Welcome to the 283rd Christian Carnival for July 1st, 2009. I always enjoy hosting, as it is one of the few times I make time to read all of the posts from the Carnival. And wow . . . there are a lot of posts today. They are presented in, more or less, the order in which I received them, however there is one significant running theme I saw through several posts, and I hope you take the time to consider it. It seems this week that many people are dealing with how we, as Christians, should partake of, and interact with, worldly media and pop culture. It’s so interesting to me, to see that people from all around the world are still connected to the same God, as he deals with several people at once about the same thing. The Christian Carnival represents Christians of all viewpoints from around the world, and although there are differences among us all, I love that we all serve the same God, and we can see the evidence of our unity in the body of Christ in our writings.

A quote: “We have all seen that one person in church, who refuses to believe that they could ever do anything that would go against the word of God. They are too saved and too righteous for that.” Kiesha . . . seen that person? I was that person. And there’s probably way more than one in each church.

It’s a quick read, and insightful on several levels. I’ve been pondering over this all day, and I think it’s a great truth: “Time is not just valuable when a child is developing in the womb; it is valuable as we are developing in our walk with Christ.”
